The wine

Château Lamartine occupies a special place in the Cahors vineyard. Its 37 hectares planted in the oldest terraces of the Lot Valley benefit from an exposure to the south, which guarantees the good maturity of Malbec.

Tandem is made from 30-year-old vines on limestone soil. Intense manual work to limit the yield to 40 Hl / ha. Sulfur-free winemaking and 20 days of maceration. Low temperature fermentation to preserve the freshness of the fruit. It ages 50% in an ovoid tank and 50% in a cement tank for 6 months.

Intense garnet in color, the menthol nose offers a bouquet of red fruits and spices. In the mouth, roundness and crisp fruit are essential to make way for a very delicate length. It ends with mineral notes, a pleasant acidity that makes you want to return to it.

The winery

Château Lamartine

Château Lamartine occupies a special place in the Cahors vineyard. Its 37 hectares planted in the oldest terraces of the Lot Valley benefit from an exposure to the south, which guarantees the good maturity of Malbec. The Gayraud family, winemaker for four generations in these clay and limestone soils, takes great care of the cultivation of their vines and the aging of their wines. Lise and Benjamin make up this fourth generation.
