Bodegas Sauci

This is one of the oldest family-owned wineries in the Condado de Huelva, and looks back on some French ancestry in winemaking, before Fernando Sauci started up the business in 1925. His son, Manuel, was a keen oenologist and a pioneer in the bottling of wine in Huelva. He saw the need to move to bigger premises and due to a particular interest in the ageing process he became involved in making fortified wines.

Manuel Sauci now has an advisory role in the business, which is being run by his two daughters, Montserrat and Begoña. The focus is on keeping to traditional lines, whilst embracing modernisation and innovation, and on supplying top quality wines to the internal and external markets.

After the harvest, Bodegas Sauci selects only the highest standard must from vine growers, and this is then aged and bottled on their own winery premises.
