An artisanal vermouth with a distinctive, contemporary feel. Anselmo Vermouth Rosso is one of Turin's historic brands and responds to the tradition of what one might expect from a "rosso Italiano": rather more sweet than bitter, but not too sweet.
Made from Piedmont Muscat and other indigenous varieties, and macerated with a selection of botanicals according to a recipe from 1584, Anselmo Vermouth Rosso sets itself apart due to a touch of grapefruit which makes it a perfect partner for preparing cocktails. Dark red with toffee-coloured glints, it exhibits on the nose a big intense bouquet which highlights perfectly integrated citrus notes and its distinctive grapefruit whiff, as well as aromas of vanilla, rhubarb, juniper, toasted wood, myrrh, cloves, cinnamon bark, dried orange... On the palate it shows remarkable balance between sweetness and acidity, and concludes with a fresh, bitter-sweet and persistent finish with hints of a medicinal kind.
