Vins Pepe Raventós

Pepe Raventós forms part of the twenty-first generation of one of the longest lines of winemaking families in the world: the Raventos family. Producing wine for five centuries in the Penedès region, they historically started the creation of sparkling wine in Spain. The Raventos winery, together with Can Sumoi, are the most personal projects of Pepe Raventós, the result of his passion for winegrowing, local grape varieties and the unique soil types found in this region.

Pepe Raventós has taken part in different social projects but his main work has always been linked to wine. As a youngster he spent hours working in the vineyards of Saint Emilion and gained invaluable experience producing wines with Didier Dagueneau in Pouilly-Fumé AOC (Loire), Nicolas Chiquet in Dizy (Champagne), and Jean Patrick Merignac in Saint Philippe d'Aiguilhe (Bordeaux).

He works the vineyards with biodynamic methods, following the lunar calendar, preparing his own treatments, and harvesting grapes by hand, often working the land with the help of horses. Wines are produced with the least possible intervention, without added yeasts, sugars, chemical products, or temperature control.  The final result are limited-production, personal and introspective, unique and exceptional wines.
