Domaine Rapet Père & Fils

The lineage of Domaine Rapet Père Et Fils dates back to at least 1765, thanks to a silver tastevin that is highly prized by the family. Rapet is one of the oldest families in the Côte d'Or, and the estate is now run by Vincent Rapet and his charming wife Sylvette, who manage the 20 hectares with skill and a keen eye for nature. The Domaine Rapet vineyard is located in the village of Pernand-Vergelesses, on the slopes of Corton. Pernand-Vergeless wines have great character, and at Domaine Rapet, you can taste a wide spectrum of them. The white wines are fresh and lively with delicious citrus and floral notes. As you would expect, the premier crus are more powerful on the palate, and of these vineyards, Sous Frétille is perhaps considered the best. That is, of course, if we don't take into account the grand cru vineyard Corton Charlemagne, which produces impressive, long-lasting wines that age for decades in the most elegant vintages.

The finely fleshed red wines of Domaine Rapet are simply stunning and offer great value for money. The premier cru Les Vergelesses dates back to the Savigny-Lès-Beaune appellation and seems to have a similar charm, while also benefiting from a direct minerality beneath the bright berries and fine tannins. The grand cru Corton Les Pougeots is big and structured, and generally needs a little time to soften and round out. But it's worth the wait, because Vincent's hands always produce an excellent wine that will be a sensational gastronomic companion.
