Adanti

Adanti is one of the historic wineries of the Montefalco area in Umbria, famous for producing protected wines such as Sagrantino and Montefalco Rosso.

Adanti covers about 40 hectares of land, 30 of which are vineyards and 10 olive groves, located in the hilly areas of Arquata and Colcimino, famous since ancient times for the high quality of its oil and wine.

The company was established in the 1960s, thanks to the intuition of Domenico Adanti, who decided to purchase the villa in Arquata with the aim of creating a modern wine cellar focusing on high-quality wine production.

Thus began the renovation of the old convent of the Celestine Friars, built on the remains of the Roman and then late Renaissance period, at the same time replanting the old vineyards and planting new ones.

The winery mainly produces red wines from native vines, such as Sagrantino di Montefalco Docg Secco and Passito, and then Montefalco Rosso Doc and Arquata Rosso dell Umbria IGT, but also continues to produce characteristic white wines such as Grechetto dei Colli Martani and Montefalco Bianco Doc.

The grapes used, mainly Sagrantino and Sangiovese, but also Cabernet, Barbera, Grechetto and Merlot, come exclusively from the estate's own vineyards.

The current owners of the company, sisters Daniela and Donatella Adanti, still aim at a selected production of quality wines and extra virgin olive oil, constantly devoting the utmost care to each product, respecting the territory and its ancient traditions.
