Vie di Romans Pinot Grigio Dessimis

From eco-sustainable vineyards, the Mariano del Friuli's winery Vie di Romans works with a very high selection of grapes and an accurate reduction of yields, which produce exciting, clean, territorial and electrifying wines. Gianfranco Gallo, with his broad experience and most-updated knowledge, has thus brought his wines from high Isonzo to winning the highest international awards, at ease in competing with the older Loire and Burgundy brothers.

Pinot Grigio too has been experimented with to achieve quality, resulting in Dessimis, a true classic of the type. From vineyards with varying exposures at just 34 metres above sea level, Dessimis benefits from soils that are very rich in minerals and skeleton, with iron and clay components that underpin the wine's structure and minerality. A rich straw-yellow colour, at times coppery, the nose is fruity at first contact, with hints of pink grapefruit and strawberry, then vanilla with a floral undertone. On the palate it is wellrounded, juicy and satisfying, harmonious, balanced and long lasting.
