What does this wine taste like?

Produced with grape glera on the splendid hills of Valdobbiadene, Marca Oro is a superior Valdobbiadene DOCG Prosecco with a fascinating light straw-yellow colour with golden highlights. It is also typical and pleasant for its fine-grained and persistent perlage. The bouquet is textbook: fruity, with hints of wild apple, golden apple, acacia flowers and honey. Slender and gentle, of moderate body, it is creamy and silky on the palate, with a slight residual sweetness determined by the dosage, which is the classic extra dry.

Drinking and storing

Serve chilled in a flute or "Franciacorta" glass to visually enjoy its fine perlage. Dose in small quantities so that it does not heat up too quickly; keep the bottle in a glacette or in a container with water and ice to maintain its temperature.

Serve between 6ºC and 8ºC

Food pairing

An excellent aperitif, it is perfectly suited to all social occasions. It can be enjoyed throughout a meal, accompanying delicate foods, especially fish.

Wine critics reviewsReviews by Suckling

A nose of baked apple, toasted herbs, and nutmeg. Medium-to full-bodied with a firm mousse. A savory palate of dried flowers, dried lemon peel and wet stone. Slightly bitter finish. Drink now.

Valdo Spumanti

Discovering Valdo is like being immersed in the history of superior Prosecco. Valdo Prosecco has very deep roots: what is now a large sparkling wine company was founded in 1926 by Abele Bolla, the owner of an inn in Soave. It was Sergio, in 1941, who came up with the Valdo brand, which recalls the magical territory of Valdobbiadene, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is the cradle of the best Prosecco, and it should come as no surprise that Valdo owns...
