Domaine Sol Payré

Domaine Sol Payré has a long winemaking history dating back to 1903, when Gustave Payré acquired the first 10 hectares of the winery's vineyards in the town of Elna, among the Pyrénées-Orientales hillsides, the southernmost vine-growing region in Languedoc-Roussillon. A century later, the firm is still run by the Payré family with the fourth and fifth generation currently at the helm.

The Domaine now owns 60 hectares of vines spread among the areas of Agly and Aspres, to the north and south of Perpignan respectively. At the foothills of the Pyrenees, Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, and Mourvèdre vines are bathed in intense sunlight as they shelter from the hard northern winds, thriving in the hot and dry climate. Over time the firm has become more and more committed to achieving the best quality in its wines and developing new cuvées, and at present they are reconverting the land to enable sustainable organic agricultural methods and produce wines to appreciate even more the wonderful character of these lands.

Domaine Sol Payré offers a splendid selection of wonderfully warm and fresh wines - well-balanced wines brimming with aromas. All of their wines, but especially their reds, have received deserved attention at the Vignerons Indépendants wine fairs in France where they win awards year after year.
