Barone Ricasoli

Ricasoli is considered by many to be the most representative winery in Chianti Classico, in the municipality of Gaiole in Chianti. The history of the Ricasoli family has been linked to wine since 1141: written records dating back to then show that the Castle of Brolio was already in the family's possession. And it was thanks to Baron Bettino Ricasoli, an illustrious politician and wine entrepreneur of great farsightedness, that in 1872 the Chianti formula was born, the current Chianti Classico.
