Bourgogne Aligoté AOC
The wines of the AOC Bourgogne Aligoté are Burgundy's best-kept secret. Made from the native white Aligoté grape, they offer a different expression to the all-powerful Chardonnay: lighter, livelier, and more direct.
Here you will find wines with citrus aromas, white flowers, and a slightly salty background, perfect as an aperitif, paired with seafood, or enjoyed on their own. Some even surprise with their ageing in wood or their ageing potential.
The AOC Bourgogne Aligoté is also the origin of the famous kir, that Burgundian aperitif that mixes Aligoté wine with cassis liqueur. But these wines deserve to be enjoyed on their own: they have their own personality and more and more producers are giving them the prominence they deserve.
Explore our selection of Bourgogne Aligoté AOC and dare to ask questions as you begin your journey through a lesser-known but equally exciting Burgundy.
