Grillo
Typical especially of western Sicily and the Marsala area, the Grillo is perhaps the most representative white grape on the island. Able to make the best of even harsh soils, such as the ferrous red earth of western Sicily, Grillo is the island's white grape that best combines clarity of bouquets and longevity. Substantially a coastal grape, the Grillo is delicate, floral, herbaceous, vegetal. But also deeply saline, mineral , with a structure that, depending on maturation and vinification, varies from thin to full-bodied, but always with a great inclination to amplitude and long persistence.
