Bluecoat American Dry Gin is a Premium gin obtained by undergoing distillation five times in copper stills, carried out very slowly to maximise the purity of the end result. All the components included in its manufacture are grown organically and the alcohol is obtained through distilling grains of rye, wheat, barley and maize. Bluecoat is an American Dry type of gin and therefore, differing from the London Dry in which juniper is predominant, it is distinguished by a citrusy complex finish. Although its production also starts off with juniper berries, it incorporates orange peel and lemon zest, along with other American citrus fruits which impart its unique and complex flavour.
The end result is clean, a little oily, with juniper and citrus aromas and floral scents. It's smooth, light and balanced on the palate, slightly sweet, with earthy and spicy flavours on a noticeably juniper background. Bluecoat American Dry Gin is intensely smooth, invigorating and complex, perfect for creating a gin and tonic with organic citrus fruits and edible garnishes. It has won awards on numerous occasions in international competitions, such as the San Francisco Spirits Competition and the International Wine & Spirits Competition.
