The wine
It is said that in the year 665 Grimoaldo, King of the Lombards, freed the city of Asti which had been besieged for days by the Franks from beyond the Alps, making him drink a red wine with an intense color and a clear and persistent aroma. Victorious Grimoaldo declared that this wine, having been drunk by the invading Barbarians, was called Barbera and that from that day it should never be missing on the royal table. Altea is also the name of the second child of Franco Cavallero, one of the owners of the company.
Wine with a frank scent, reminiscent of chocolate and cherries. Dry, pleasantly bitter taste, full and harmonious taste. Altea is the typical wine for all meals, which goes wonderfully with hot appetizers, rice, pasta and all types of meat.
