The wine

Masies d'Avinyó (Abadal) is the amalgamation of a land reclaimed and restored to the wine-growing tradition of Bages (a name bestowed by ancient settlers, paying tribute to the Roman god of wine, Bacchus), the modern approach of its owners and the innovative, willing spirit of a young, enterprising team with a single purpose: to produce wines of quality and great distinction, and with an aspiration: to make wines that have their own defining character.

Abadal Crianza is the most bourgeois of all the cuvées; it is produced predominantly from Merlot and undergoes a very traditional vinification. It brings us comfortably close to the classic Bordeaux formula: roasted plum preserve, dampness, animal scents of wild boar skin, leather and cow hide are the smells revealed on the nose; it is one the region's classics, with a delicate side, saline, fresh, dynamic but elegant, and coming up with a great explosion of plums on the palate.

Abadal Crianza, a wine ready to conquer.
