Details for Terra de Cálago 2015
Bottle size and vintage
Benito Santos was an enthusiastic lover of albariño variety and founder of the winery in Vilanova de Arousa (Pontevedra); although both unknown, it was the first winery that participated in the Albariño in Cambados in 1965. Practice an honest, organic farming, and works under the concept that their wines are born in the vineyard, not the winery, looking for all the role and expression of terroir. Thus, its mythical Terra de Cálago, is a unique wine that comes from the complexity of three plots of albariño, each with its own characteristics: Payments Bernil, Xoan and Saiar.
Terra de Cálago 2007 is a different albariño, which breaks with the known in a matter of albariño wines: this is a terribly young wine! How much surprises us drink this wine and highlight their youth. As for cellaring potential is concerned, you still have a few years to be at its peak.
Associate this albariño his sister riesling: in its floral aromas, white fruit (apple and pear) and very soft and ripe citrus. Let yourself impress by a varietal mouth in which the terroir concept is expressed in the form of fresh, dynamic citrus acidity and, of course , with a long finish, floral and mineral satiny touch.
This wine represents the refined expression of a great albariño ... Give him time!
