The wine

Pico Royo is the fulfilment of a dream, the hopes come true of Florencio Salgado, better known as Tito Salgado, to use hand-crafted methods in the making of his own wine from the grapes of the family vineyard in his home town, on the banks of the River La Guareña, five minutes outside Toro. Pico Royo is also the name of the hill which protects this vineyard, a plot of land in Toro, with which the Salgado family has had close ties for several generations.

This is a low-production, artisan wine, made exclusively from grapes grown on the estate’s five hectares. Matured for 24 months in French oak barrels, Pico Royo is a Reserva wine that is powerful, rich in ripe fruit aromas, with honey and toasty notes.

The winery

Bodegas Salgado Narros

Florencio Salgado, Tito, has plenty of energy and drive, a tireless worker, and one fine day he decided to abandon his busy life in the business sector to dedicate himself to making his own wine from grapes grown in the family vineyard, back home, on the banks of the River La Guareña, five minutes away from Toro. The winery lies on the estate, with its five hectares of vineyards, and the wine is made entirely according to traditional, hand-crafted methods.
