The wine

Very tasty … absolutely right! An excellent find in this recently discovered region, located in the most easterly part of Albacete, adjoining Alicante, Valencia and Murcia. Bodegas Almanseñas own lands through which passed the Royal Road connecting Madrid with Valencia and Alicante, with Almansa being the last link on the plateau heading towards the east coast: Mediterranean influences are therefore much in evidence.

On the wise recommendation of a member of our Club Vinissimus, we thought it a good idea to try the winery’s two whites. We liked them both, but we chose the Adaras Selección, because of its great elegance and finesse, despite its southerly provenance; an excellent opportunity to discover this region…

Don’t be surprised by first impressions on the nose! A whiff of smoky wood soon dissipates into a sequence of exotic fruits such as pear, grapefruit and pineapple, cushioned by the creamiest, finest pastries. Dense, oily-rich and melting in the mouth describe this nuanced Adaras Selección – a white wine with structure, rounded tannins and generosity.

Aged for three months on its lees in French oak barrels.

Working on this new project, their intention is to convey all the personality of the Almansa terroir, especially through the Garnacha Tintorera, capable of endowing wines with a...
