Wine critics reviewsReviews by Parker and Jancis Robinson

However good the regular San Leon might seem, the NV Manzanilla San Leon Reserva de la Familia is several notches above. Produced from Palomino grapes aged for an average of nine years under flor, it could be considered a Manzanilla Pasada, even though the label does not mention it. It is dominated by chalk, yeast and bread-dough aromas and even shows some roasted nut notes often found in older wines. The palate is sharp and full, intense and penetrating. This is one of the finest Manzanillas in existence today.

This is the bottling from the owner of the solera from which Alexander Jules gets his Manzanilla. Bottle and label look less smart and the wine is a tad less pungent but it is certainly fine and true and would make a very good aperitif. I suspect it also costs less.
