Wine region / Country
A single varietal Monastrell originating from the Pago de los Almendros plot, on the Finca Usaldón estate in Villena, a terroir of calcareous soil covered with stones and pebbles and low in organic matter.
A Picota cherry colour with violet on the rim and abundant tears. On the nose, it imparts a fine and complex bouquet with aromas of raisiny fruit, carob, black olives, figs, plums, blackberries, fennel, aniseed, spices... On the palate, it offers a good entry, with a showing of acidity and woodiness which is counterbalanced by its floral and fruit notes, and also its minerality and meatiness. Ideal as an accompaniment to all sorts of desserts and cheeses.
NOTE: The Rafa Bernabé wines have been produced with minimum intervention, vinified with hardly any handling and in the most natural way possible, without the addition of sulphur and with yeasts from the actual vineyard, and they have not been clarified or filtered. Such a natural production process can result in the wine showing some cloudiness or sediment, and specifically in some vintages more than others. It is therefore advisable to keep the bottle in an upright position for several hours before serving.
