Trebbiano di Soave

After garganega, trebbiano di Soave is the most typical white grape of the famous Veneto volcanic area in the province of Verona. A close relative of trebbiano di Lugana, it is historically used in blends with garganega to produce a more ready, slightly blunted Soave, with a clear fragrance already at a young age. A vine, certainly among the most aristocratic of the Trebbiano family, which is not easy to grow, trebbiano di Soave is now experimentally vinified even as a single variety. Perhaps after a certain ageing on the lees it expresses fruity notes of apple and sweet citrus fruits such as mandarin. On the palate it is quite soft, with a nice freshness, good structure and notable persistence.
