The wine

The Finos en Rama are always more intensely flavoured, longer on the palate and more weighty than traditional Finos. They're like this because they've been bottled straight after being drawn off the butts, without any sort of filtering and thus in their purest form. The Gran Barquero Fino en Rama is a fine example: one of the most authentic of its kind, matured after very long ageing under a veil of yeast, for 8 to 10 years, in American oak butts.

It's a Fino en Rama in every sense. Appearing a dark golden colour due to its age, it's distinguished by its pungent aromas of iodine and sea breeze, and its rustic character. On the palate it's dry, saline, with a slightly bitter undertone and, like all genuine Finos en Rama, ideal for matching up with fish with plenty of flavour, grilled vegetables, mushrooms, canapés and more savoury or even spicy dishes. Thinking of all those possible pairings certainly gets your taste buds going, doesn't it?
